Trees for Every Project

PKG Safety Innovation is based in Perth, with a global team and clients spread across Australia and beyond. In practice, that means one thing we can’t get around: we fly. A lot.

We fly for client projects, workshops, site visits, conferences and strategy sessions. On top of that, we run a tech-heavy business: AI tools, data platforms, devices, driving to sites, events, and everything that goes with working at the cutting edge.

We also take huge inspiration from nature — for how we design work and for our own mental health. Being around trees, water and open space is how we reset and think clearly to deliver innovation to our clients.

So we’ve put a simple commitment in place:
Trees for Every Project - each year, PKG will contribute to Carbon Positive Australia and support native tree planting and landscape restoration. This annual contribution will help ensure our work has a positive, regenerative impact on Australian landscapes.

It’s a practical way to link the work we do with clients to something regenerative and sustainable happening on the ground in Australia.

Why trees?

We don’t see trees as a magic “offset” or a way to pretend our impact doesn’t exist. We see them as part of a bigger picture:

  • They help draw down carbon over time
  • They repair degraded land and improve soil and water health
  • They support biodiversity and wildlife habitat
  • They create environments that nurture good mental health and wellbeing

Carbon Positive Australia focuses on native tree planting and ecosystem restoration, with projects that restore Australian landscapes and support local communities.

Trees for Every Project is our way of backing that work, project by project.

How PKG Trees for Every Project works

1. Every project triggers a contribution
For each engagement with PKG Safety Innovation, via an annual partnership we allocate funds to Carbon Positive Australia to support their native tree planting and landscape restoration programs.

2. Native trees, sustainable impact
Our contributions help fund Australian native tree planting in restoration projects across the country, with species selected to suit local conditions and support long-term ecosystem health.

3. Restoration
We’re not buying generic “carbon credits” or claiming certification. Our support is a contribution to on-the-ground restoration work where carbon, biodiversity, and community benefits build over time.

What this means if you work with PKG

When you work with PKG, you’re not just investing in safer, smarter work. Your project also means:

  • A tangible environmental contribution — supporting native tree planting and ecosystem restoration in Australia through Carbon Positive Australia.
  • A story you can reference in your own ESG / sustainability reporting if you choose (for example: “Our project with PKG supported Carbon Positive Australia’s native tree planting and landscape restoration programs.”)
  • A partner that treats technology, safety and environmental impact as part of the same system, not separate conversations

If you’d like a short statement about PKG Trees for Every Project tailored to your engagement (for board papers, ESG reports, or internal comms), we’re happy to provide it.

Let’s Be Real

We’re clear-eyed about this:

  • Planting trees doesn’t cancel every tonne of CO₂ from flights, AI tools, data centres, or driving
  • We are not claiming to be “carbon neutral”, “net zero”, or “carbon positive”, although we strive to make a dent
  • We still have a responsibility to reduce our impact wherever we practically can

Trees for Every Project is one part of that response — a standing, no-fuss way to ensure that as we help design the future of work and safety, we’re also contributing to the health of the environments we ultimately depend on.

If you’re interested in the details of the projects we’re supporting through Carbon Positive Australia, or want to explore something similar in your own business, let’s talk.

More about Carbon Positive Australia

Carbon Positive Australia is a grassroots organisation who strategically develop projects to address one of the greatest climate needs: reforestation. With over two decades of experience, they’re experts in revegetation, reforestation, carbon measurement, carbon education, and environmental planting. And they’re here to help everyone take climate action, for a greener future.

With over 7.7 million trees planted and 675,000 tonnes of carbon captured (*as of 2024), Carbon Positive Australia leads impactful land restoration projects nationwide. For over 20 years, they have been working with individuals, communities and organisations, to take climate action by planting native trees and reducing their carbon footprint.

Carbon Positive Australia helps organisations, communities, and individuals take climate action by supporting native tree planting and ecosystem restoration. Their reforestation projects are about more than just carbon offsets - they’re about meaningful restoration, supporting community tree planting and providing education tools to help everyone understand their climate impact.
