PKG Safety Innovation™ (part of Pocketknife Group®) is a specialist safety innovation consultancy focused on the intersection of safety, technology, and innovation. We work with safety leaders and their teams in global and local organisations at various stages of their digital maturity journey, bringing together specialists in safety, technology, human factors, data, and change management to craft solutions that fit our clients’ specific situations. Our philosophy and our mission is Better Work, By Design.
Our work is grounded in four values:
This is a rare opportunity to deepen your safety expertise as part of a boutique consultancy known for its thought leadership and distinctive position at the intersection of safety, technology and innovation, helping clients solve their most complex problems.
The role offers significant autonomy and direct client exposure from day one. We’re building our methods and IP as we grow, and the right person will see that as an opportunity to shape how we work and, over time, to carve out and own their own area of expertise within the business. It suits an ambitious safety professional who can see the potential of the safety-tech space and wants to go deeper into it.
This is a permanent, full-time role, remote/hybrid within Australia. We have an operational preference for candidates based on the East Coast (Sydney or Melbourne), but are open to outstanding individuals in other major Australian cities as well.
Applicants must have full living and working rights in Australia.
Start date: Immediate.
PKG Safety Innovation is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates collaboration and innovation and is committed to developing a diverse and inclusive workplace.
If this role sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t feel that you meet every requirement.

At Pocketknife Group (PKG), we are more than just a consultancy; we are architects of better work.

We tell you what you need to hear—even when it’s uncomfortable. We admit when we don’t know and when things didn’t work.

We do it the right way. We stand by our work. The work has to be sound — researched properly, tested, built to hold up.

We challenge what isn’t working and celebrate what is. Innovation requires being willing to feel uncomfortable.

Beyond our work on fatality prevention, mental health and wellbeing, we contribute to environmental projects and industry.
