PKG Safety Innovation's Cam Stevens recently facilitated two Mindset Catalyst Sessions in Adelaide; first with Fulton Hogan's utilities division, then with SA Water and their KBR project team. With over 350 people engaged across both sessions, it was a powerful day of conversation about safety, innovation and the future of work in infrastructure delivery.
Fulton Hogan: Back to Work Safety Leadership
The morning session brought together around 200 participants from Fulton Hogan's utilities division as part of their Back to Work safety leadership program. The room included field workers, supervisors, and team leads alongside safety professionals and project and division leadership; a genuine cross-section of the people who make major infrastructure projects happen.
Fulton Hogan is a major delivery partner for SA Water, and their team is engaged in significant projects across the region. The session was designed to complement and reinforce their existing frameworks, with a focus on three key areas: awareness of their Reconciliation Action Plan, their critical risk management processes, and elements of their Living Safely 2.0 program.
Beyond these foundations, Cam was asked to spark curiosity and cultivate an innovation mindset; exploring how teams can leverage data, technology, teamwork and collaboration to co-design better work.
SA Water: Infrastructure Projects Delivery
That afternoon, SA Water and their embedded KBR project team members invited Cam to their offices to present to a diverse, multidisciplinary group of over 150 infrastructure project delivery team members in a hybrid session.
This was another catalyst for the mindset and culture shift needed for sustainable and responsible innovation; bringing together professionals from across the project lifecycle to explore what's possible when human insight meets emerging technologies.
Our Catalyst Sessions
When organisations are seeking ways to embed their core processes, streamline operations, iterate, and innovate, but don't know where to start; these sessions act as a catalyst for change.
For all workers, particularly in a unionised environment, this groundwork is essential before any technology investment. The outcome? A workforce genuinely engaged in what can sometimes be an uncomfortable conversation about data, privacy and ethical concerns.
When this engagement is backed by leadership, it becomes a powerful first step toward reaching common ground; setting in motion a pathway for strategic innovation. For many clients, the natural next step is a discovery and visioning exercise to gain clarity on the challenges to solve and align on a way forward.
Safety Innovation Framework
These catalyst sessions represent the starting point of a meaningful journey. They create space for honest dialogue, surface innovative ideas from the people closest to the work and build the foundation for sustainable and responsible technology adoption.
Catalyst sessions are a primer for organisations seeking to develop and embed a safety innovation framework that underpins digital safety strategy. If your organisation is looking to evolve core health and safety processes, explore innovation opportunities, or simply start the conversation about what's possible, get in touch to learn how a Mindset Catalyst Session might help.
